Getting Started

You want to get access and start using the app, follow these steps to install it.

Prerequisites

Before installing and using Vendor & Contract Management for Jira, make sure that :

  • You are using Jira Cloud. The app is not compatible with Jira Server or Jira Data Center.

  • You have Jira System Administrator permissions. Only Jira System Administrators can install the app and manage access.

  • You have access to the Atlassian Marketplace

Once these conditions are fulfilled, you can proceed with the installation.


Installing the App

Vendor & Contract Management for Jira is installed directly from the Atlassian Marketplace and integrates seamlessly into your Jira Cloud instance.

Installation Methods

You can install the app using one of the following methods:

Option 1 : Install via Direct Marketplace Link

  1. Click on the Marketplace link provided

  1. Click Get app.

  2. Select the Jira Cloud instance where you want to install the app.

  3. Confirm the installation.

 

Option 2 : Install from Jira Administration

  1. Log in to Jira as a Jira System Administrator.

  2. Go to AppsFind new apps.

  3. Search for Vendor & Contract Management for Jira.

  1. Select the app and click Install.

  2. Confirm the installation when prompted.

First Access & Initial Setup

Installing the app is only the first step.
To use the application, you must assign the Vendor Administrator role.

Why this step is Mandatory

Vendor & Contract Management for Jira uses a strict access model:

  • ❌ Users without the Vendor Administrator role cannot access the app

  • ❌ There is no read-only access by default

  • ✅ Only users with the Vendor Administrator role can open and use the application

This ensures full control over sensitive vendor and contract data.

Assigning Initial Access

After installation, follow these steps:

  1. Open Jira administration.

  2. Navigate to the Vendor & Contract Management administration page.

  3. Assign the Vendor Administrator role

 

Always assign at least two Vendor Administrators to avoid access issues if one user becomes unavailable. Once the role is assigned:

  • The user can immediately access the app

  • No additional configuration is required to start using core features

  • English

  • French

  • German

  • Spanish

  • Portuguese

For other languages used and not listed, the app will be in english.
